Sussex Time Out
Time Out is a break from the usual an opportunity for relaxation and fun or to change thoughts and activities. Leisure time is entwined with special occasions, events and dressing up. I am fascinated by the pictorial connection between social interaction and the dramatisation of clothing. The relationship of fashion and body has a wide range of cross references from history, memory and changes in function to value.This concept has power to evoke psychological and physiological fantasy not only for the wearer but also the viewer! The work has been developed from observational drawings with ideas taken from theatrical performance, street life, cafes and bars with the intention of capturing mood, moment and narrative.
